The software package uses a machine specific software licence.
To use the package you firstly install the package on the desired
"host" machine.
At the end of the installation process you will be prompted to
activate/register the package on the Internet.
The software package will not operate without a valid key!
If you have a Unix host skip to that section below.
WINDOWS
If the host machine is running a Windows operating system (Windows NT,
Windows 2000, Windows XP),
a screen like the one below will appear. The software package you are
registering should already be
selected in the Application drop down list.
If this host/PC can not browse the Internet click the "NO"
button and follow the steps at "NO Internet".
If this host/PC can browse the Internet click the "YES" button. You
will then be able to correct
or enter your details that are used to provide you with support of the product.
YOUR DETAILS ARE NOT PASSED ON TO ANYONE ELSE.
Once you have entered/corrected your details, clicking the "Register these
details" button
will record your licence and allow the software to operate.
Click "Done" once you have successfully registered.
Your application is ready to be used!
If the host does not have browser access to the Internet, after
clicking the "NO" button a URL
will then appear.
Select the complete URL text and copy (Ctrl+C) it. This is your
application Lock. You then need
to paste this complete URL into a browser on a machine that does have Internet
access.
[If you do not have Internet access, then email this URL along with your
contact details to your
distributor who will return your personal registration key. ]
On a
machine with Internet access, paste/enter the URL exactly as shown, you will
then be able
to enter your registration details:
Once you have entered all your contact details, click the
"Register" button.
A new screen appears showing you your personal registration key:
Copy your registration key carefully into the registration program
still running on the host.
Paste/enter the registration key from the Internet into the field as
shown above.
You should see a confirmation screen informing you that the key has been
correctly installed.
After clicking "Done", your application is ready to be used!
If the host machine is running a Unix operating system (AIX, HPUX, Linux,
Solaris), then follow these steps.
As you install the application, the installation process will execute the
"setlic" program. This will generate
a machine specific "lock" and the URL to request a "Key"
for the lock as seen in the following sample:
