#### What is LineUp?

LineUp moves selected symbols on the HP OpenView submap and evenly spreads them either on an axis or a vector joining the extreme symbols.

The resulting maps are pleasing to the eye and make laying out maps more attractive and easier to use.

#### How does it work?

LineUp is simple and intuitive to use. Simply select the symbols you would like to align, in either a line or circle, then click on the View menu and choose an alignment option:
"Align symbols end-to-end", "Align symbols on axis", or "Move symbols to form Circle". That's all!

Example of LineUp output

"Align symbols on axis" moves two or more selected symbols to their most natural axis. If the selected symbols are spread roughly along a horizontal line, then LineUp moves them to be evenly spread along
the average horizontal line that runs through the symbols. If the symbols are spread roughly along a vertical line then it is to this line the symbols are moved.

"Align symbols end-to-end" moves three or more selected symbols to be evenly spread along a vector that joins the most extreme symbols.

"Move Symbols to form Circle" moves three or more selected symbols to be evenly spread along the circumference of a circle that is centered at the mid point of the symbols with a radius that is the average distance of the symbols to the new center.

#### Platforms

LineUp runs with HP OpenView 5.x, 6.x and 7.x on Windows 200x/XP, HPUX 11.00+ and Solaris 2.8+
